Top Ten Signs You Might Have a Liver / Gallbladder Imbalance

Spring has sprung. Time for a Jin Shin Do Acupressure Session.

It's Spring!! So why do so many of us feel a bit sluggish in the Spring?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring and the Wood element are represented by the Liver and the Gallbladder. So, as we enter Spring, certain conditions associated with the Liver / Gallbladder Meridian may become more noticeable.

1. Mood Swings and Irritability; The emotional symptoms associated with Liver imbalances mimic the physical stagnation that happens. You may notice yourself feeling extra irritable or frustrated, and more easily annoyed.

Dew Unto Others

One woman's donation drive for breast cancer survivors in Mexico.

Women are expected from a young age to be nurturers, often at the expense of their own health. I believe that cancer, particularly breast cancer, is sending women the message that they must learn to nurture themselves first.

My friend, Anne Dewhirst, is a breast cancer survivor.

Appreciating that she needs to nurture herself, Anne is planning an extended vacation in sunny La Penita, Mexico! But, the nurturer in Anne is still there. She can't just relax on the beach without doing for others first. That's Anne!

Hallelujah! Peace On Earth

On this Remembrance Day, my wish is for peace.

What do you do to commemorate Rememberance Day? For myself, I take the time to remember my brother, Henry. He served our country and left us way too soon.

With our world in turmoil as we evolve as a planet, I thought it would be as timely as ever to pray for peace. God bless!

And what better way than with our own KD Lang's moving rendition of Hallelujah.

Messages From My Sister - September 08

The Strumbellas

Every day, in little ways, I receive messages from my sister, Hanne, whether it is a sign or a song. Hanne prefers music! Just to remind me that she is near and that she loves me.

Today was no different. I was adding events to our calendar and felt compelled to listen to this tune. Made me smile the whole way through as Hanne, in her not so subtle way, is reminding me to stay positive and alert for my purpose. There is something for me in this life!

I am sure this tune will have you smiling and tapping your toes as well! The downside? The song is too short!

Walk The Talk

Walk the talk

I do most of my work sitting. Blogging, social media, on the telephone, working on ads. And yes, I know that I need to get moving more. Excercise, stimulate the brain, my creativity, etc.

But I always seem to come up with excuses! I am too busy to take a break. It's raining, I might melt. And my personal favourite, my dog is too old to walk very far! While they are all true they are still, just excuses.

ORCA Is Lacing Up!

MS Walk

Did you know that three Canadians are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) every day? This disabling disease has no known cause and therefore no cure. Yet every year over 40,000 Canadians in more than 160 communities across our country continue to lace up at the MS Walk to raise vital funds for people living with MS. Thank you so much!

Some of you may know that my sister, Hanne, passed away last year due to complications from MS. She is the second member of my family to leave too soon because of this disease. So this year the ORCA Marketing Group is lacing up!

Just This Side Of Heaven

Rainbow bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
